Presenter Name: Kelly Kingery
Presentation Title: Teen Fly Tying
Presentation Description: Do you love to fish? How would you like to “create the bait”? Every fly fisherman knows the value of a good Woolly Worm in their fly box, and you can leave this program with one of your very own that you hand tied! It’s easy, its fast and it works! Seating and supplies are limited.
Presenter Biography: In the fall of 2010, a father/daughter outing opened up a whole new world for Kelly. “Let’s go fly fishing!” dad said, “and I’ve had my arm in a ‘cast’ ever since!” Kelly has always loved being outside whether she was camping in the White Mountains or helping out with barn and garden chores. Growing up as a farm kid; fishing, hunting and running amuck in the woods from daylight till dinner with her three brothers, she is still most comfortable either riding her horse or wading the local creeks and streams with her fly rod. A perfect day has her doing both! As a program specialist for Five Rivers MetroParks, Kelly feels fortunate to teach fly fishing classes as well as paddle sports, and you will often see her at one of the many fishing spots in the MetroParks. She has always been fascinated with water, but fishing has really helped her to slow down and take time to enjoy nature, making new discoveries all the time. “I hope I never stop learning.”
