Presentation Title: Scotland and the West Highland Way
Presentation Description: To celebrate their recent retirements, Jenny and Nat Davis headed to Scotland in May 2017 for a hiking vacation! After several days in Edinburgh, they traveled by train to Milngavie, northwest of Glasgow, the starting point of the 100-mile “West Highland Way.” Over the next 9 days, they hiked across the mountains and valleys of the Scottish Highlands, including Loch Lomond, Ben Lomond, Rannoch Moor, and the Devil’s Staircase, ending up in Fort William. From there, they took the Jacobite Steam train (of Harry Potter fame) to the coast and then a ferry to the Isle of Skye for more days of touring and hiking before making the return trip to home.
Presenter Biography: Jenny and Nat share a love of the outdoors from biking, fishing, and camping, to backpacking and wilderness canoeing (Nat presented an Adventure Summit talk on canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness several years ago). Now that they are both retired, they have more time to spend together in the outdoors and are loving life!
