A Grandfather’s Solo Bike Ride Across America
February 12 @ 10:45 am - 11:45 am
Bill Fowler presents A Grandfather’s Solo Bike Ride Across America;
With pictures, Bill tells of his solo adventure in bicycling across America at the age of 66. He recounts the dangers, trials, tribulations, fatigue, and despondency endured. His story also sings with the joy and exuberance only an exciting adventure can bring forth as well as the beauty, friendships, thrills, excitements, and people encountered. He also squeezes in stories of remarkable women and men and the challenges they faced which helped shape the country he crosses. When taking on an epic adventure of this sort remember, “how does one eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”
Bill is 73 years of age, has a BS degree from Virginia Tech along with an MBA from Xavier University. His career includes Chief Operating Officer of First Vehicle Services, VP for Ryder, Director for Con-Way, Senior VP for ATE Management and Major in the US Army. This career spanned more that 45 years with most of it in the Transportation industry and, while technically retired, he continues to conduct motivational speaking engagements and has just authored his first book. Bill and wife Angela have six children and eight grandchildren and reside in Batavia, Ohio.
