Essentials of Wilderness Survival

Dr. Kermit Huebner presents Essentials of Wilderness Survival;
Activities in the wilderness deserve healthy respect and a knowledge of survival fundamentals to thrive in the midst of unanticipated complications. This session will review basic survival skills and recommendations for climate specific survival kits.
Dr. Huebner is an emergency medicine physician with multinational medical experiences in austere and combat environments. He is board certified in Emergency Medical Services and a Fellow of the American Academy of Wilderness Medicine with interests in environmental injuries, tactical combat casualty care, technical rescue, and disaster medicine response / crisis response. Dr. Huebner is faculty with the Integrated WSU Emergency Medicine Residency Program and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and serves as the State Aviation Medicine Officer in the West Virginia Army National Guard.
