Indoor Triathlon

February 21, 2026, 8 to 10:30 a.m.
Wright State University Student Union Recreation Center

The Adventure Summit Indoor Triathlon co-hosted by Up and Running includes a 15 minute run/walk, 15 minute bike ride, and 15 minute swim. Participant scores will be based on distance “traveled” over the combined 45 exercise minutes. Transitions will not be timed.

Winners will be announced on stage at 11:00 a.m.; competitors must be present to receive prize.

All proceeds will go to support a local charity and Wright State scholarship campaign.

About Fitness Studios

The Adventure Summit Fitness Studios are located at the Student Union Campus Recreation, room 092 of the Student Union. During the Adventure Summit, this area features several fitness sessions geared toward accelerating your heart rate, calming your soul and living a healthy, active lifestyle.

Bring your athletic clothing, fitness shoes and stamina as these are some of the most active sessions of the Summit. Bring a towel to wipe off the sweat from these fun and challenging programs. Locker-room facilities are available. Instructors will lead sessions to assure the safety of all participants while offering tips to maximize the positive effects of your session.

Morning Yoga: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Studio B

This yoga flow will help prepare your body for a day of sitting. At The Adventure Summit, your imagination and dreams will flourish while your body grows stiff and tightens from a day of listening to inspiring presentations. Allow yourself one hour to awaken your body and move with your breath.

Indoor Cycling: 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., Studio A

Indoor fitness cycling. Rides include a variety of drills that simulate outdoor cycling including sprints, climbs, hovers, and more. Suitable for all fitness abilities.

Stretching for Hikers, Paddlers, Climbers and All: 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., Studio B

Stretching is an important part of fitness: it can improve your range of motion, increase circulation, and calm your mind – which may help reduce the risk of injuries and illness. To increase range of motion and bring awareness to your body try this all levels stretching class.

Training on the Move: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Studio C

Learn how to incorporate workouts in non-traditional spaces without access to a gym. Whether traveling, at home, or out on an adventure, use the knowledge from this class to keep up with your fitness goals. Burn through full body exercises to receive an awesome strength and cardio workout. Learn to move your body as a unit, exercise with a purpose and improve your athleticism! All fitness levels and experience are welcomed.

Guided Meditation: 4:45 to 5:15 p.m., Studio B

Join us for a peaceful and rejuvenating meditation session suitable for all experience levels. In this 30 minute class, you will be gently guided through relaxation techniques and heart-centered meditation by an experienced trainer. The session is designed to help you calm your mind, relax your body, and connect deeply with your inner self. Whether you are new to meditation or have an established practice, this class offers a supportive and nurturing environment to cultivate mindfulness, balance, and emotional well-being.

Pool

Canoe Battleship

February 21, 2026, 8:30 to 11 p.m.
Wright State University Student Union Pool

We sunk your Battleship! This friendly competition is sure to be fun and exciting as teams of four, try to sink other boats in an all-out battle in the pool.  Each team will paddle around using buckets and throw water into the other team’s boats in an attempt to sink them before they sink you. This event is limited to 16 teams. You will not want to miss out.

About The Pool

The only aquatic facility on campus, this facility is home to the Wright State University club swim team, Kinesiology and Health Department, rec fit water classes, open swim, and intramural sports. At The Adventure Summit, the pool transforms into the center of instruction and demonstrations related to paddle sports, scuba and fishing. Hands-on and spectator activities are available.

This venue provides a great atmosphere for those seeking instruction to those who want to kick back and watch the action. A comfortable spectator area is available for the armchair enthusiast who doesn’t plan to get wet at The Adventure Summit.

Locker-room facilities are available for those who want to be right in the middle of the action.  Bring your swimsuit, a towel and water shoes to get active. A variety of programs for all interests, ages and ability levels are offered.

Please note: All participants must complete a risk and release waiver.  **No registration required unless noted below.  Walk-ins accepted.

Try Kayaking: 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Join us in the pool to try kayaking! We will bring along our kayaks, paddles, and lifejackets so you get the chance to try kayaking in the safety of the pool. Paddle around or practice your skills- it’s your call! All ages welcome.

Kayak Roll Demonstration: 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.

First, watch the team from New World Expeditions, Water Safe Ohio, and Ohio Kayak Instruction teach someone how to roll for their first time. Next, T.J. Keenan and Joe Frey will spend time with Water Safe Ohio information. T.J. can demonstrate some current modern whitewater roll methods. Joe knows 50 ways to roll a kayak, along with the history of the various techniques, used by native folks that lived off of area water ways a century or so ago, and up to current day. Last, Eric Bartl will have the big finish segment. Eric is a world class freestyle playboater, and competed in the world championships this last summer in Europe.  He and some of his friends that are also excellent freestyle playboaters will demonstrate playboat moves that show much more than rolling.

Snorkeling & Skin Diving Pool Experience: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

In a world covered in water, snorkeling and skin diving gives us a window into the underwater wonderland that awaits us. Join the experienced instructors of Aquatic Realm Scuba Center in the pool for a fun filled session of Snorkeling or Skin Diving. You will be introduced to the basic techniques of the activities and enjoy putting your new skills into action with fun games and skill challenges. Minimum age is 12 years old, and you must be able to swim.  Registration is required; space is limited.

Flatwater Kayak Demonstration: 4:45 to 5:45 p.m.

Eric Bartl of Ohio Kayak Instruction will be showcasing different techniques for freestyle kayaking. This program is designed for the audience to watch from the bleachers and not enter the water.

Climbing

Bouldering Competition

The Adventure Summit Bouldering Competition is Dayton’s premier climbing competition of the season. Competitors can test their bouldering skills in beginner, intermediate, and advanced categories for both men and women. Prizes will be given to the top competitors in each category. The route difficulties will range from V0 to V9. Please complete and bring with you the Wright State University Liability Waiver.

Winners will be announced at 2:45 p.m.; competitors must be present to receive prize.

The competition has sold out each year, so be sure to register in advance.

About The Climbing Gym

Wright State University’s climbing gym is home to a free form wall built by Entre Prises. The wall has been hand sculpted by experts to provide climbers with the natural features they want and require to stay interested over the long haul. The climbing wall is just over 23 feet tall and 40 feet wide. The bouldering wall is 14 feet tall and 20 feet wide.

The rock climbing wall is located in the heart of the exposition area during the Adventure Summit in the Student Union. The climbing wall has a front glass viewing area that is two stories high, inviting spectators on both the upper and lower level of the exposition.

Minors need parent/legal guardian on site and must complete a waiver. Direct parent supervision is required for all participants 16 and under.
