Great American Rail-Trail: Adventure on Any Scale!

Eric Oberg

^

How many outdoor adventure projects are creating a facility that can satisfy the adventure goals/dreams of almost anyone? The Great American Rail-Trail is the nations most ambitious multi-use trail project. The GrT is Rails to Trails Conservancy’s vision to create a fully off road multi use trail from Washington DC to the Pacific Ocean in Washington State. The route is 3,700+ miles and is 55% complete. It goes through 12 states and Washington DC> This includes Ohio, and the Miami Valley!
What makes the GrT so compelling is it can accommodate any scale of adventure. You want to take your first 50 or 100-mile bike ride, done! You want to ride through one State at a time, done! You want to cross the Country, get on it!
This presentation will introduce the Great American to you, show where it is already open for adventure and where the work is still happening to fill in the gaps.
