All the Places that you Own: Exploring your NPS sites

All the Places that You Own. Exploring your NPS sites

Program Description

The Maitlands are the first family to have been to all 423 NPS units, taking 8 years, and breaking 3 world records. However, they never intended to do so. The program is an illustration of how they started. Homeschooling their two youngest children and using the junior ranger programs that the national parks provide, and found there was nothing better than teaching their children about our country, standing where history was made. In our power point presentation, they include that anyone can achieve this goal. By using their 4 foreign exchange students, who completed 72 NPS sites, visited 32 states, volunteered 117 hours at the River Raisin National Battlefield Park, while attending and graduating public Highschool, in 11 months of staying with us.
