What Does Human Rights have to do with Being Outdoors? (Midwest Outdoor Leadership Conference)
February 12 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Angela Weiland presents What Does Human Rights have to do with Being Outdoors?
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that all humans have a universal right to rest and leisure. Personal stories, testimonials, and industry trends, will be reviewed and evaluated to critically examine where human rights advocacy in the outdoors has been and should be directed in the future.
Angela is a senior Human Rights Studies major with a Women and Gender Studies minor and works for Campus Recreation as an outdoor leader and rock wall supervisor at the University of Dayton. She embraces her intersecting minority identities and passion for nature and outdoor recreation to advocate for inclusivity in the outdoors.
This program is open to the public as part of the Midwest Outdoor Leadership Conference collaboration with The Adventure Summit.
