Gateways to Microadventures on the Ohio to Erie Trail, by Tom Bilcze

February 10 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

The Ohio to Erie Trail is on the trails checklist of Ohioans and national and international explorers seeking adventure in the outdoors. The 326-mile off-road, non-motorized path through Ohio offers excitement and challenge to cyclists of all ages and abilities. The 23 trails and 27  towns and cities serve up the culture, diversity, and heritage of Ohio.

There is more to explore beyond the trailheads whether you are an end-to-end bicycle tourist or a day-tripper. This interactive session offers microadventures, short, fun, and exciting adventures, on the Ohio to Erie Trail. Today’s presenter is your guide to varied adventures for a day or two or three. The trail gateways lead to a journey on trails, streets, and country roads where you discover the real Ohio.

You are invited to experience these microadventures on your phone or tablet as your guide visits local attractions and must-sees on the ride. Trail experts, local ambassadors, and cyclists have assembled itineraries and supporting details to make your visit fun, adventurous, and lingering in your memories.

Tom is president of the Ohio to Erie Trail Fund where he oversees the strategic direction and long-term goals of the Ohio to Erie Trail. As a Knox County resident, he serves as treasurer of the Friends of the Heart of Ohio Trail. Touring the world both near and far by bicycle is the source of his happiness. Tom advocates cycling and trails for people of all ages, shapes, sizes, and abilities. His mantra is to get out and explore the world at the speed of a bike.
